What is Adaptive Streaming?

Adaptive Streaming automatically adjusts video quality in real time based on the viewer’s internet speed, device capability, and network stability. Instead of buffering or stopping playback, the player dynamically switches between different bitrate versions of the same video to ensure smooth viewing.

How It Works

When a video is uploaded, it is encoded into multiple quality levels (for example: 240p, 480p, 720p, 1080p,1440p,2160p). During playback:
  • The player monitors available bandwidth.
  • It selects the most appropriate bitrate.
  • It switches seamlessly if network conditions change.

Key Benefits

  • Buffer-Free Playback – Reduces interruptions during streaming.
  • Optimized Bandwidth Usage – Delivers only the quality the network can handle.
  • Better Viewer Experience – Smooth playback on mobile, desktop, and tablets.
  • Automatic Quality Switching – No user action required.

Supported Streaming Format

Adaptive streaming is delivered using:
  • HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) – Industry standard for reliable video delivery.
  • Multiple bitrate renditions generated during video processing.
